IN SILENCE is an exciting new band, formed in Karlstad, Sweden in 2016. They are a female fronted melodic metal band with a modern touch, and debuted with their 3 track EP "One For All" in April this year, and already one month later they gave their fans two more songs released as a two track single, "The Worst Liar" and "Open Your Eyes" , both of them being the subject for this review.

If there is anything Sweden is known for, it is fermented herring and melodic metal. A countless bands have emerged from the Swedish metal scene since the early nineties. In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and Tiamat are just a few examples of bands who are still going strong, and then there are the more recently formed bands that bring new life to their nation's musical legacy.

IN SILENCE is one of them, and their debut EP and the following single are strong statements that show the public that even they have a modern sound, I feel their expression is very energetic, powerful and unique. Guitarists Daniel Delin and Sebastian Elmlund work together brilliantly, delivering catchy riffs and harmonies, and I find myself wondering how the hell this band can make so many things happen during just three short minutes on each song. The band is tight and fast, and singer Erika Jonsson never misses a note. She has a really strong voice that really just enhances the already highly apparent strength of the band.

Even though this review is about the most recent single, I lent an ear to the "One For All" EP too, and I really can not find any weak spots anywhere. The songs really are perfect; powerful, melodic, full of great riffs and arrangements, and they never get boring.

So, in conclusion, it is safe to say that the five tracks that IN SILENCE have released this year are all thoroughly solid works, and if you like your metal to be powerful and energetic with focus on good melodies, catchy riffs and equally strong vocals...well, you have my absolute recommendation.
